Exploring ideas presented in Bachelard’s Poetics of Space, the project ‘Quiet Rooms’ consists of two small rooms constructed of paper, card, and wood, and combines elements from the artist’s past and present home environments to create a new dreamlike space.
Created as part of my BA Illustration Graduate Portfolio.

The Studio. Drawing from both my existing workspace, my ideal workspace, and outcomes created in class for a ‘Dream Studio’, this space imagines a cosy, multifunctional room, tucked away in an attic.
As both a collector of books, and creator of a lot of artwork around books, it made sense for the primary room featured to be a library. This space is heavily inspired both my own home, and the home of writer Virginia Woolf.
The 400+ books in this space are all scale replicas of a portion of my own library and are all handcrafted and painted.
